    The Challenge

Montus Business Academy needed a modern, flexible website to better showcase their growing portfolio of courses and to streamline their booking process. The existing WordPress website was outdated, lacking the functionality required for their expanding educational offerings.

    1. Outdated Website: Montus Business Academy’s existing WordPress website lacked the necessary features to handle their expanding course offerings and modern user experience expectations.
    2. Complex Booking System: They required a custom booking flow for their courses that allowed users to book multiple participants in a single transaction, which isn’t supported by standard WooCommerce functionality.
    3. Custom Frontend Design: The website needed a clean, modern look with smooth animations and sliders to enhance the user experience and reflect the professional brand image.
    4. Third-Party Integrations: CRM integration to streamline orders and customer management, Dinero for automated invoicing, Zendesk for live chat support and Mailchimp for automatic newsletter subscriptions when users purchased courses

    Approach

We started by identifying Montus Business Academy’s core needs, focusing on three main areas: enhancing the user experience, improving administrative ease, and integrating various third-party services. After in-depth discussions, we decided to leverage WordPress combined with WooCommerce for e-commerce functionality while heavily customizing it to meet the specific course booking requirements.

Our approach centered on creating a clean, highly functional design that would give Montus control over their content while ensuring an intuitive booking process for their users.

    Technical Details

    • WordPress & WooCommerce Customization: We built the site on WordPress with WooCommerce, but given the complexity of the course booking system, we customized the checkout and cart defaults using PHP and JavaScript. The participant data is stored via localStorage and it gets dragged out through the whole booking flow to avoid stressing the server. After that, it will be save within the order meta data that gets passed to the third party systems.
    • Data Migration & Product Import: We transferred all product (course) data from their old WordPress site into the new WooCommerce system, ensuring continuity while maintaining accuracy for the newly added fields and functionalities.
    • CRM and Dinero Integration: We integrated the new website with their existing CRM for orders and product updates. We also connected the site to Dinero using a middleware API that “translates” the orders’ data.
    • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for Frontend Flexibility: Using ACF custom blocks, we provided Montus the ability to build new pages in a modular way. This allowed them to create dynamic course listings, landing pages, and event announcements without needing to write code. These blocks included features such as teacher bios, course reviews, FAQ sections, and sponsors, all customizable on the backend.

    Results

The new Montus Business Academy website delivered on all fronts. The custom booking system vastly improved the user experience, allowing for smoother, multi-participant course registration. Admins benefited from the modular page-building approach using ACF, making content management more efficient and less reliant on developers.

The seamless integration of WooCommerce, Mailchimp, Zendesk, and Dinero allowed Montus to automate key business processes —from marketing to invoicing— while the site’s clean design and animations helped elevate the brand’s digital presence.

In short, the new website not only enhanced the Academy’s operational efficiency but also provided a more professional, user-friendly platform for current and prospective clients.
