Fashion Forum

Fashion Forum is a prominent media company dedicated to the fashion industry. It provides extensive coverage of the fashion sector in Denmark and internationally, offering industry news, in-depth articles, interviews, event information, job postings, and more!

    The Challenge

    Fashion Forum sought to revamp their online presence to better engage their audience and monetize their platform. The goal was to create a visually compelling and user-friendly website that replicates the reading experience of a print magazine, enhanced with modern web technologies. An external agency (e-Types) provided the design.

    1. Build the layout to emulate a magazine, with attention to typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy, ensuring seamless transitions between pages.
    2. Ensure a responsive and visually appealing design.
    3. Integrate and customize the WP JobBoard plugin for job postings to align with the overall site design.

    Approach

    To meet the client’s needs, we developed a custom WordPress theme on top of their existing WordPress installation. To ensure flexibility in content management, we deconstructed the design into modular components and then created custom blocks that are easily arrangeable and manageable within the WordPress backend.

    Technical Details

    We leveraged various plugins and development techniques to achieve the desired functionality and aesthetics:

    • Developed custom blocks using Advanced Custom Fields Pro, PHP, Sass, and JavaScript, allowing content editors to create and arrange content dynamically in a user-friendly interface.
    • Installed and configured the WP JobBoard plugin and customized the job board interface to maintain design consistency via Sass (CSS).
    • Set up Stripe as payment gateway and submission processes to allow users to post job ads easily.
    • Implemented smooth page transitions using AJAX requests to ensure that content loads dynamically without full page reloads.

    Results

    The Fashion Forum website project successfully transformed the client’s online presence, offering a visually appealing and functionally robust platform. The combination of advanced web technologies, thoughtful design implementation, and flexible content management set a new standard for fashion industry websites, enhancing both user experience and business outcomes.
